Tell us about your family.
Ariane and I married in 2001. We met in Rogers, Arkansas at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where I was serving as Worship Pastor. We have lived in Arkansas, Missouri, and Louisiana. We love to travel and spend time together.
When/How did you begin your relationship with Jesus Christ?
I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in Children’s Church on an October Sunday morning in 1980 at First Baptist Greenwood, Arkansas. It was in Junior High when I started noticing how God was working through and around me, and started really growing as a Christian.
How did you come to Lonoke Baptist Church?
I was serving at Southside Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas as Pastor of Worship and Education. I was called to Lonoke Baptist as Worship Pastor in May of 2013.
What is your favorite scripture?
My life verse for many years has been Hebrews 3:13, “Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you will be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love the fact that I have the privilege and responsibility to lead the church in worship to God. I also love that I am able to surround myself with many people that have been called to lead in worship as well every week. I have the best Worship Ministries team that one could ask for.
What is the best thing you have ever eaten?
This is the hardest to answer. I love food. I think that it would have to be a “Shrimp Dressed.” That is how you order a shrimp po-boy with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo (I also add ketchup, my brother adds hot sauce), at P&G’s in New Orleans on Baronne St.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?
My favorite movie would have to be Star Wars. I watch all of the movies. Episodes 1, 2 and 3 are probably my least favorite of all of them, but I still watch them.
What are your hobbies?
My favorite hobbies would have to be traveling, cooking, and playing golf.
What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
I catered President George W. Bush’s airplane at XNA the night before he won his first presidential election. I was the catering manager and assistant manager at Kisor’s Grill and Bakery in Rogers, Arkansas at the time.
If you weren’t doing your job right now, what job would you have?
It is hard for me to imagine doing anything else other than being in the ministry, but if I had to guess, I would say probably running a food truck.
