Tell us about your family.
I was born in Orange County, California, but was raised in Jena, Louisiana. My husband, Brand, was born and raised in Jena, Louisiana. Brand and I were close friends in high school and were actually voted Mr. and Miss Jena High School when we were Seniors. Little did we know we would be married one day and have a family together! We have been married since March 2016. Brand is a God-fearing Christian man who loves me unconditionally. He also eats, sleeps and breathes sports and outdoors! We have a 3-year-old little boy named Hudson who loves to talk, sing, do anything that involves sports and copy everything his daddy does! Brand and I were blessed to be able to teach and lead an “Adults with Small Children” Sunday School class while we lived in Jena for a few years.

When/How did you begin your relationship with Jesus Christ?
I came to know Christ as my savior at the age of 22. I felt the Lord working in my life the moment I started attending Searcy Baptist Church in Louisiana with my husband, Brand. I did not attend church regularly when I was a child. I was in a Youth Group at First Baptist Church as a teen and attended church camps each summer, but had never asked the Lord into my heart. The day I was saved, the sermon was about our hearts becoming hardened after denying Jesus as our Lord and Savior over and over again. I became eager and fearful at the same time. I felt the Holy Spirit tugging at me, altar call after altar call. Finally, after this sermon, I decided to give it all to Jesus! The weight of the world was immediately lifted off of my shoulders, as I professed Jesus as my Lord and Savior, accepted him into my heart, and confessed my sins. Devoting my life to Christ sets a Christ-like example for my son, Hudson.

How did you come to Lonoke Baptist Church?
My husband and I came to visit our former pastor and friends, Bro. Reid and Heather Terry, in Lonoke. Of course we enjoyed catching up with our friends, but we were drawn to Lonoke Baptist Church’s Sunday School class, worship music, church service, children’s worship and the congregation all in one day! We had no intentions to leave our hometown, our comfort zones, or our families when we came to visit. The moment we got back to Louisiana and let it all soak in, my husband and I began to pray about taking a leap of faith and moving to Lonoke and joining LBC. After much prayer, God placed it on our hearts to move to Lonoke! What an amazing journey it has been so far and we know with the Lord by our side it will continue to be. I prayed about the open position as the LBC Children’s Minister and God opened this amazing, new opportunity for me. I am excited to lead children to seek the Lord! I believe children are one of the most important parts of the church. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” I strongly feel it is important to instill the love of Christ and Biblical teachings in our children. It provides them with a stable foundation and direction to build a relationship with God.

What is your favorite scripture?
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” -Psalm 105:1

What is your favorite thing about your job?
This is my first Ministry job and I am super excited to work out in the mission field. I have not gotten to experience that yet, but I know that will be my favorite part of this job. My first week at LBC was when the schools and churches were let out for COVID-19. Definitely a wild and interesting time to start a new job right?! Throughout this quarantine time I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with the children and church members through phone and social media.

What is the best thing you’ve ever eaten?
I love everything pasta and any kind of food from my roots… LOUISIANA!

What is your favorite TV show/movie?
I watch a lot of cartoons (especially since I have a 3-year-old), but if I had to say what my favorite adult TV show is it would be NCIS. My favorite childhood movie was “Mary Poppins”, but as an adult, I’m more of a “The Notebook” kind of gal.

What are your hobbies?
Cleaning, listening to Christian music, sports, anything outdoors, fashion and spending time with my family!

What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
I was awarded All-State Pitcher my Senior year of High School and was asked to play on the All-State team. I also played college softball at BRCC in Louisiana.

If you weren’t doing your job now, what job would you have?
I used to manage my mother’s clothing Boutique and coffee shop in my hometown for a while, so I would be the Store Manager there.
